Specialty physical Therapy Services

Prenatal and Postpartum

At The Latina Physio, we understand the unique needs of pregnant women as they embark on the transformative journey of motherhood. Our specialized physical therapy program aims to support and empower women throughout their pregnancy, helping them maintain optimal health and prepare for the miraculous journey ahead. It includes the appropriate interventions to guide moms to a safe delivery and recovery as they experience cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and hormonal changes during and after pregnancy.

  • It’s our priority to keep mom and baby safe. During your treatment, you will be guided through all the steps to have an educated and empowered birth. You will learn techniques to optimize your pelvic floor and body to decrease pain, prevent perineal tearing, diastisis recti, pelvic organ prolapse and other orthopedic injuries to safely deliver your baby. You will also learn techniques to help reposition baby in the case of a breech or unfavorable birthing position so you and baby can remain safe throughout the birthing process.

  • For postpartum care you will learn to safely reconnect with your body as you regain strength and return to your normal function. We will address any new changes to your body to help you heal gracefully and holistically. You will learn optimal body mechanics and positioning for breastfeeding and other daily activities that are important to you. We will make an individualized plan to help you meet your physical goals and address any pelvic floor and orthopedic condition that arises along the way. These may include: diastisis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, perineal or cesarean scar pain, urinary or fecal incontinence, constipation, pain with intercourse, or other body aches.
